Medical Cannabis for Chronic Pain: Understanding the Basics

Medical cannabis is one option that some people explore as part of chronic pain management, but it can also feel confusing or hard to navigate. In this group medical visit, Dr. Noah Alexander and pharmacist Anita Rasoda will review the basics of pain physiology and introduce the endocannabinoid system, including how cannabis is thought to interact with the body and nervous system. We will discuss both medical and recreational routes of access in Canada, review practical considerations for use, and explore why working with healthcare professionals is important for individualized dosing, monitoring, and safe use. There will also be time for questions so you can better understand whether medical cannabis may be an appropriate option in your care.
